Dickinson County is located in northwestern Iowa. It is named for Daniel S. Dickinson, a United States Senator.
The seat and largest city are both Spirit Lake. A large portion of the county includes Okoboji Lake.
Dickinson County borders Emmet, Clay and Osceola Counties in Iowa, as well as Jackson County, Minnesota.
Main highways include US-18, US-71 and IA-10.
